In $ terms, a pool home sells ON AVERAGE for $135,000 more than a non pool home.

While obviously there are different factors that explain such a difference (the main one is that pool homes are more likely to be upgraded e.g.), it appears that a pool home carries a premium. Since you can have a nice starter pool around $20,000, if you are willing to go through the real hassle of having a pool installed, you can potentially save a lot of money by buying a home without a pool and have the pool of your dream installed. Food for thoughts….

These numbers are based on median prices which are the main indicator for real estate prices (half the homes sell for more and the other half sell for less).
